The Reese Goose Box is a game changer in fifth wheel towing and was our favorite upgrade on this trailer. We’ve towed with standard fifth wheel hitches (4 different brands) for 16 years. With the Goose Box, rather than having a clunky heavy fifth wheel hitch filling up the bed of your truck, your entire truck bed is empty as soon as you unhitch. The Reese Goose Box has a built-in air-ride system that makes the trailer float behind the truck. No noise, no chucking and super easy to hitch/unhitch. It is also the only gooseneck style hitch system that Lippert Components endorses for use with their trailer frames.
The 15,000 lb. GVWR is vital if you plan to bring a side-by-side. The weight of a full water tank, full gas tank and full propane tanks is 1,135 lbs. On identical trailers with a GVWR of only 13,800 lbs, this leaves you only 2,555 lbs for the side-by-side, the gas in its tank, your food, clothes, tools, kitchen, bathroom and camping gear and any upgrades you do to the trailer. For us, that was insufficient. We wanted the bigger axles, beefier tires and larger GVWR rating.
In this trailer there are two slides (bedroom and living room), an RV queen bed in the bedroom (60x74) and HappiJac bunks that are a full queen on top (60x80) and a double on the bottom (54x80). The lower HappiJac bunk can be set up as opposing loveseats with two tables in between.
There are two Euro Chairs that can be placed anywhere in the rig, and there is a removable table that is typically positioned between them in front of the large living room window. The is also a loveseat sofa that folds up against the wall while in transit.
The kitchen has a 3-burner Furrion stove/oven and a residential microwave. The large farm style sink can be turned into counter space with two lightweight covers that are the same material as the countertops. The 8 cubic foot refrigerator runs on either propane or 120v a/c.
The spacious bathroom has a long countertop, single sink, deep linen closet, large under-counter cabinets and big shower.
The bedroom has two hanging closets and five drawers as well as overhead cabinet space and a good sized cubby with a door.
The Morryde ramp door can be set up as a patio with surrounding railings. Both the ramp door and railings are very easy to deploy.
The Onan generator can be turned on/off in the kitchen or with a switch next to the bed.
There is full pass-through storage under the fifth wheel overhang.
All systems are in excellent working order.
